Mayor's update

Spring is shaping up to be a busy time, with some wonderful local opportunities to have some fun in the great outdoors.

Wynn Vale Community Garden celebrates its 30th birthday on 10 October with an open day from 9am to 2pm. Come along to enjoy this much‑loved space, meet ABC Gardening Australia’s Sophie Thomson, share coffee and cake, and browse the plant and produce market stalls.

Families will love the Muddy Hands Festival at Golden Fields on 30 September, where kids can have a muddy good time with hands-on nature play. Muddy Hands sits alongside Re-Fest, Civic Park Carols and A Day in the Gully as Council-run and partnered events over spring and summer.

Council has also adopted its 2026–27 budget, with $47.5 million in capital works to improve roads, footpaths, parks, sporting facilities and stormwater. Thanks to everyone who had their say on this during the community consultation. We look forward to seeing these projects rolled out.
