Public interest disclosure
The City of Tea Tree Gully (Council) is committed to promoting transparency and accountability in its operations.
The Public Interest Disclosure Act 2018 aims to encourage the reporting of wrongdoing, ensure disclosures are appropriately managed and raise awareness of protections for individuals who make such disclosure.
There are two types of public interest information:
- Environmental and health information - Information that raises a potential issue of a substantial risk to the environment, public health or safety of the public generally, or a significant section of the public.
- Public administration information - Information that raises a potential issue of corruption, misconduct and maladministration.
Any person can make a disclosure of environmental and health information but only Public Officers can make a disclosure of public administration information.
For more information, please refer to Council’s Public Interest Disclosure Policy and Public Interest Disclosure Procedure.
