Whether you’re passionate about sustainability, love markets or enjoy a good day out, Re-Fest is the event for you.

This free community event – at Tea Tree Gully Library from 10am to 3pm on 7 November – will feature guest speakers, workshops, activities for kids, and a market selling plants and upcycled, recycled and pre-loved treasures.

A toy swap will give families the chance to save money and reduce waste – especially in the lead-up to Christmas.

Mayor Marijka Ryan said thousands of people are expected to attend the family-friendly event.

“Re-Fest is an opportunity to learn from experts in their field and have some fun along the way.

“Come along if you’d like to know more about waste and recycling, wildlife and gardening, reducing your energy bills or electric cars,” she said.

Kids will be able to get up close to native animals and creepy crawlies with Animals Anonymous and Bugs and Slugs. Nature play and craft will also be available.

People can drop into the event on the day, but bookings are required for all workshops and the toy swap.

While the event will be based at the library, some activities and food trucks will be available outside on Civic Park.

Re-Fest is hosted by the City of Tea Tree Gully, with support from gold sponsor Electrolux Home Products, and silver sponsors Formula Modbury, Green Industries of South Australia, L’Archive Bridal and KX Pilates.
